Improving tooling life & performance

MIL60 Anchor
To ensure that we manufacture tooling that delivers the greatest performance, we offer an extensive range of steel and carbide grades for tooling used in multiple forming applications.
Our innovative collection of MIL60 steels maximise performance and productivity across an extensive range of hot & cold forming applications
When upgrading to MIL60, customers will experience greater output, higher efficiency, and reduced tooling costs.

Our MIL60 range is durable and wear-resistant making it suitable for a variety of cold forming tooling, including die inserts, die cases, die rings, die sleeves, heading punches, forming punches, and pins.

HRC 54-60

Die inserts & sleeves

MIL60R is particularly effective where toughness is required. Even with increased hardness, MIL60R provides superior impact resistance, outperforming other tool steels.

M2, M35

HRC 58-64

Heading & forming punches, KO pins

The perfect steel for general cold forming and punching.

HRC 64-68

Extrusion, piercing & marking

High-strength steel with greater wear-resistance.

PVD Coating
Extend tooling life by up to 10x with our PVD Coatings
Our Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coatings extend the life of tooling by reducing wear-resistance and friction whilst establishing a thermal barrier to reduce oxidation and heat fatigue.

PVD coatings are metal compounds with high hardness and wear resistance. The optimal coating depends on many factors within the process, including the forged material, lubricant, working temperature, and machine speed.

Our Physical Vapour Deposition process is based on vaporizing the compound so that it can be deposited consistently and uniformly as a thin layer on the tooling.

Our coatings are extremely tough and provide a high level of protection far beyond that of the foundation steel they are applied to.

Titanium Nitride

General purpose coating for cutting, forming, and moulding.

Titanium Carbon Nitride

Enhanced hardness and wear resistance over TiN.

Excellent for metal forming (carbon steel).

Chromium Nitride

Excellent adhesion, high toughness, good corrosion resistance.

Suitable for forming non-ferrous metal such as aluminium and copper.
